Thursday 7 July

I must apologise for my tardiness in updating this page. We've been busy settling in and then I went away for a few days. Now the Team is (slowly) gathering at Bisley, so that the pace of events will pick up. It also inevitably means that the spell of rather fine weather that we've enjoyed over the past week is coming to an end! Today has given us rain in the morning, with sun and showers this afternoon. There is supposed to be more rain tomorrow, just in time for the Overseas Teams Match with the North London RC in the afternoon.

The British Commonwealth Rifle Club Open Meeting was held last weekend. In the relatively benign weather, scores were high on both days. Full details may be found at http://www.nra.org.uk/common/asp/content/content.asp?site=NRA&id=972 . Alain Marion had a very good weekend, finishing 10th in the overall aggregate with 419.58/425 and standing first amongst overseas competitors. Jane Messer was in first place with 422.65. Also engaged from the Canadian Team were Scott Murray 412.43, Stan Frost 409.32, and Jack McKellar 397.31.

Tomorrow, Friday, assuming that a number of transatlantic flights arrive on time, we'll have a team in against the NLRC and overseas teams. Then, over the weekend, small groups go to Wales and to Huddersfield and Altcar for the traditional off-Bisley matches.

More on all this later.
